ABSTRACT
Tidal power, also called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into useful forms of power - mainly electricity. Although not yet widely used, tidal power has potential for future electricity generation. Tides are more predictable than wind energy and solar power. Among sources of renewable energy, tidal power has traditionally suffered from relatively high cost and limited availability of sites with sufficiently high tidal ranges or flow velocities, thus constricting its total availability. However, many recent technological developments and improvements, both in design (e.g. dynamic tidal power, tidal lagoons) and turbine technology (e.g. new axial turbines, cross flow turbines), indicate that the total availability of tidal power may be much higher than previously assumed, and that economic and environmental costs may be brought down to competitive levels.
Here we are bringing the model of tidal power plant which can increase the potential of production of electricity.

INTRODUCTION
Ø Even though tidal powerplant is not widely used now days, it has a wide potential for the future.
Ø It uses the wave from the ocean surface and capture the energy for the production of the electricity. For example, electricity generation, water desalination, or the pumping of water (into reservoirs).
Ø Machinery able to exploit wave power is generally known as a wave energy converter (WEC). Electricity generation is the process of generating electric energy from other forms of energy.
Ø The fundamental principles of electricity generation were discovered during the 1820s and early 1830s by the British scientist Michael Faraday. His basic method is still used today: electricity is generated by the movement of a loop of wire, or disc of copper between the poles of a magnet.
Here we are using the same principle of Faraday for the production of electricity. The turbine which is affixed to the generator makes the armature to rotate inside the generator as a result magnetic flux lines cuts. Thus the difference in the potential makes electricity.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Ø Turbine which is fixed to the two generators through a shaft
Ø Turbine and shaft is placed perpendicular to the pipe.
Ø A blower is fixed to generate the artificial waves at one face of the pipe.
Ø The turbine is faced in such way that the wave will strike it properly and effectively.
Ø When the wave hit on turbine blades, the wave energy is converted into electrical energy.
Ø This transformation of energy is done by the generators.
Ø In generator, when the armature rotates magnetic flux lines is disturbed as a result potential difference developed and electricity is generated.
Ø Transmitting wires are connected to the ends of the generators to draw the electricity.
Ø Amount of electricity drawn may vary according to the waves strikes the blade of turbine.
Ø If there is an step up device we can boost up the voltage.

APPLICATION & ADVANTAGES
Ø Production of electricity by using renewable energy resources.
Ø Electricity can be produced in remote islands.
Ø It is free from pollution as it does not use any fuel
Ø Large area of valuable land is not required.
Ø It does not produce any unhealthy waste like gases and ash.
Ø It has an unique capacity to meet the peek power demand effectively when it works in combination with thermal or hydro electric system.
Ø It must superior to hydropower plants as it is totaly independent of rain which always fluctuates year to year.
CONCLUSION
As day by day the need of energy increase around the globe. Our search for the project came into the topic alternative power producing plants, which is eco-friendly & pollution free. We together searched in internet and got many ideas of tidal power plant.
During the tenure of the project we visited to various different sites and we got a well base idea about the production of electricity using the tidal power plant and also we reffered many other power plants.And their mode of producing electricity.Even though now a days the tidal power plant is not so popular it has a wide future in power generation.
Three fourth of the earth is covered with water if we are using this resource properly there will not be any problem for electrical power around the globe .
